How did you feel on the first day of school compared to how you feel today? What things have contributed to any changes in the way you feel?
On the first day of school I felt pretty open to the classroom, because I have already been to HTH for a year and that's what they do here, to open students up and make them more comfortable in crowds of people. For the Freshman on the other hand, on the first day they were all timid but I think it's good for them to have sophomores in their class because I feel like they would open up more. I say that because I remember on the first day of high school for me, nobody would talk for the first week and it was very uncomfortable for everyone. So to answer the question, I have stayed the same and will do my best to open up the freshman introverts so they will be more comfortable sharing their thoughts in class.
If you could build a third Balsa rocket, what would you do differently and why?
If I were to do this project again I would definitely make it more top heavy and place the motor in the oven before use.
After watching some other students’ films, what themes or common traits have you noticed?
They all had the launch in their videos and most of them had humor in them.I tried focusing on the cinematic shots and making the vis=deo look pleasing to the eye.
Is there something you saw in someone else’s film, that you wish you would have done in yours? What was it?
In tucker’s film I saw that he was able to have all the requirements in his video. I should have had more voice overs so I would be able to fit all my content in.
Do you see value in being able to create a film about your work? Why or why not?
I see value in filming because you have proof of what you did and other people will be able learn from your film.
What are a few things you plan to do differently on your next film and why?
If I were to make my film again I would try to incorporate more content in it because when people watch the video I want them to know how to build a rocket instead of just seeing the experience that I had.
Our first rocket launched pretty well considering it was a small motor and our second flew really well considering that we had 2 rocks taped to the top of it. Some things that make a good balsa rocket or any type of rocket are making the rocket as light as possible, more top heavy, having a well built motor, and large fins. You also have to think about other factors such as the weather and the humidity. If I were to do this project again i would definitely make it more top heavy and place the motor in the oven before use.
