DescriptionFor Spanish two we spent about 8 weeks reading this book. We were given the choice between two books. We chose the book Esperanza. It's was told through Esperanza's perspective, a woman who lives in Guatemala with her family. She was married to Alberto and had two kids, Ricardito and Lily. They were a family that had fled their home and illegally come to the U.S. Every Thursday we read a couple of chapters and completed an assignment based on the chapters. After finishing the book we were given a list of 13 project options to complete by exhibition.
ReflectionThe reason why I chose this book as one of my artifacts is because I learned a ton through this book. Reading this book really opened up my mind and expanded my understanding in what is going just 30 miles away from me. I could see my vocabulary improving each week we read the chapters. This book is one of the very few books that I really enjoyed reading and it was in a language that I do not speak fluently.

DescriptionThe video above is a video that my partner and I made together for Spanish Honors. In the class we had the option to chose anything we wanted to do and it had to incorporate spanish culture and help us learn spanish at the same time. Both of us enjoy filmmaking so we decided to make a short documentary about what life is like in our day and age as a hispanic business owner.

ReflectionI am really happy about this project because we filled a promise that we made and went through with the project. There was a time halfway through the project where Tucker and I just wanted to give up but this is where having a partner is so helpful. I am glad I chose Tucker to be my partner because even though sometimes he could be a little bit tough to work with, we still would keep each other on task and have fun at the same time. What I learned from this is that choosing my partner wisely is very beneficial for a project. I have had so many bad partners in the past where I would have to do all the work or the communication between us was very bad and the end product was always crap. I will always think before I pick my partner from now on.
